Design Quality Evaluation

This project focuses on evaluating design quality across Match Group's suite of apps by establishing a clear benchmark for UI and interaction design. It aims to quantify design quality into a ranking system that is easily understood by executives, enabling more informed decision-making. By generating reliable, data-driven insights, the initiative will support the development of strategic optimization plans across all brands. Additionally, it will lay the foundation for a more comprehensive, large-scale approach to ongoing design quality and usability reviews.

Design Quality Evaluation

Context

The current design landscape across Match Group highlights several structural challenges that limit overall quality and scalability. There is a lack of capability to effectively support brand-level customization, making it difficult for individual products to express distinct identities while maintaining cohesion.

Within each brand, design inconsistencies further dilute the user experience, signaling gaps in standards and execution. At a broader level, there is a noticeable disparity in design quality across brands within the E&E portfolio, creating an uneven user experience and making it harder to uphold a unified standard of excellence. These issues point to the need for a more systematic approach to design governance and quality evaluation.

Goal

The goal of this project is to establish a clear and standardized benchmark for UI and interaction design quality across Match Group's apps, creating a shared definition of excellence. This benchmark will serve as a consistent reference point over time, enabling teams to measure progress, track improvements, and identify areas of opportunity. Additionally, the initiative is designed to inform and lay the groundwork for a future, more comprehensive design quality and usability review, ensuring scalability and long-term impact across the organization.
